This notice explains how personal data is handled on eugenecharalampous.com (the “website”). The website is operated by Eugene Charalampous, who is the data controller. Address: Kiti, Larnaca, Cyprus. Contact: chef@
The short version
- The website does not use cookies and does not track you across sites.
- If you send an enquiry, your details are used only to reply to you and to discuss the work you asked about.
- Your data is never sold and is not used for marketing without your separate consent.
What is collected and why
Enquiries
When you use the contact form, or write directly, the details you provide (name, email address, and optionally phone number, date and town, plus topic and message) are processed so that Eugene can respond and, where relevant, take steps towards an agreement at your request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to entering into a contract) and, for general questions, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering messages).
Form submissions are delivered by email to chef@
Server logs and abuse protection
Like any website, the web server records technical data for each request (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser user agent and referrer) to keep the website secure and working. The website is hosted by Hostinger, which keeps these access logs for a limited period under its own retention settings. The legal basis is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
To limit spam, the enquiry form counts how many messages are sent from each connection. It stores only a one-way scrambled (hashed) form of the IP address, never the address itself, and deletes each entry after one hour.
Cookies and analytics
The website sets no cookies. If privacy-friendly, cookieless visitor statistics are enabled in the future, they will only count visits in aggregate, and this notice will be updated to name the provider.
How long data is kept
Enquiry emails are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and any resulting work, and in any case no longer than 24 months after the last contact, unless a longer period is required by law (for example accounting records).
Who receives your data
Only service providers needed to run the website and email (web hosting by Hostinger, and email delivery), under data processing agreements, and only for those purposes. Data is not transferred outside the European Economic Area except where a provider offers appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email chef@
